St. Lucia’s Bay Gardens Resorts Welcomes New York’s NTDTV

CASTRIES, St. Lucia – Bay Gardens Resorts welcomed international television network New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) to Saint Lucia November 23 – 26, 2009. NTDTV is broadcast to over 200 million homes worldwide and was invited in conjunction with His Excellency Tom Chou, Ambassador of the Republic of China [Taiwan] as an effort to promote the islands’ tourism to Asians worldwide.

“At Bay Gardens Resorts, we welcome guests from all different ethnicities and cultures from around the world,” commented Bay Garden Resorts’ Managing Director, Joyce Destang. “We value our diverse array of guests, and have a strong repeat clientele. We believe that the Asian market is highly important, and we would like Asians from all over the world to know that Saint Lucia cannot be missed. Bay Gardens Resorts is the ideal location for travelers who want to experience a tropical island destination similar to what is available in Asia Pacific without having to travel halfway around the globe.”

NTDTV spent four days touring the various Bay Gardens Resorts properties and interviewing key tourism officials including Senator the Honorable Allen M. Chastanet, Minister For Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Saint Lucia and His Excellency Tom Chou, Ambassador of the Republic of China [Taiwan]. The group also toured Saint Lucia visiting Sulphur Springs and Torielle Falls in Soufriere. While in Soufriere, NTDTV enjoyed fine-dining and spectacular views at Ladera’s Dasheene Restaurant. Ladera is the original open-air concept resort on the island. Bay Gardens Resorts’ fabulous The Dolphins Restaurant served up island cuisine, while the popular Chinese restaurant Memories of Hong Kong was not to be missed in Rodney Bay Village.

Saint Lucia is appealing to many Taiwanese travelers in part due to the fact that it is one of the few Caribbean islands that restored ties with the nation in 2007. As a result, Taiwan has invested money to help boost tourism to the island though agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture. Their newly constructed orchid greenhouse is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean and will soon be home to 70,000 orchids.

NTDTV’s segments on Bay Gardens Resorts and Saint Lucia are to begin airing in December in the greater New York area (via Time Warner 589, RCN 490), USA (via various local cables), Canada (via Rogers 817 and Novus 340 cables), and worldwide (via 4 unencrypted global satellites).
