ST. KITTS – – St. Kitts’ reconstructed and redesigned cruise ship facility, Port Zante, has been listed among the 10 great Caribbean cruise ports.
In recent years, cruise liners have responded to passenger requests for something different by visiting a variety of ports, some they even built themselves. The result has been an integration of some exciting destinations, previously not often seen by cruise ship passengers, along with some pretty-hard-to-beat classic cruise destinations.
According to Chris Owens of Cruise@ddiacts , sailing a variety of cruise lines in 2011, they got a chance to sample many of these warm Caribbean ports.
The ten are St. Kitts’ Port Zante; Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras; Cruz Bay, St. John’s U.S. Virgin Islands; Isla Catalina, Dominican Republic; Falmouth, Jamaica; Rodney Bay, St. Lucia; Galveston, Texas (although not in the Caribbean); Gustavia, St. Barts; Bridgetown, Barbados and Mayreau, Grenadines.
