St. Kitts PM looks forward to forging deeper relationship with new Democratic Labour Party Government in Barbados

BASSETERRE, ST. Kitts – St. Kitts and Nevis has joined regional and international leaders in congratulating the new Prime Minister Hon. David Thompson on the recent victory of his Democratic Labour Party at the polls.

“I extend congratulations to you and the Democratic Labour Party on your overwhelming victor at the January 15th polls, which gives you a very strong mandate to serve the people of Barbados and the wider Caribbean region,” said Prime Minister Douglas.

The St. Kitts and Nevis leader wished Prime Minister Thompson and his new Labour Government “God’s guidance as you now take up the task of leading a proud Barbados in this era of grave global challenges and the new and continued thrusts towards greater regional integration.”

“I am sure Sir, that your leadership will present an advancement of the people of Barbados,” said Prime Minister Douglas, adding that he looks forward to an excellent working relationship with Mr. Thompson and his new Government “as we strive to forge newer and deeper relations between our two countries in a cause of protecting and advancing our proud Caribbean heritage and governance.”
