South Florida’s Largest Caribbean Party – The Miami Broward Carnival Showcase of Costume, Pageantry, Culture and Music

SOUTH FLORIDA – The Miami Broward 2013 Carnival Season is officially here and Miami Broward Carnival Connoisseurs Set To Participate On Sunday, October 13, 2013.

South Florida will witness the vibrant colors and pulsating energy at Sun Life Stadium(2267 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens), where over 20 masquerade bands will participate in a two mile street parade within Sun Life Stadium and compete for Band of the Year bragging rights.

The costumes are being judged on visual impact, creativity, authenticity, clarity of theme, best use of color and presentation. This year’s costumes will showcase a spectacular riotous blend of colors, pageantry and fantasy. Following the parade, a concert featuring the 2013 Soca Monarch & Road March King Superblue and some of Soca and Chutney heavyweight singers and bands will take place. Performers include: Raymond Ramnarine, Sir Oungku, Ravi B, Shal Marshall, Nutron, Supa Jigga, TC, Yankee Boy, Chucky, Nisha B and Kimmy, all backed up by Red Hot Flames, Dil-E-Nadan and Karma. Concert hosted by Giselle D Wassi One and Mc Wassy.

In-house music powered by DJ Spice and Team Soca. Gates open at 11am and the parade starts at 12 noon.

Admission is $22 in advance and more at the gate.
Families will enjoy Caribbean food, drinks, arts and craft @Caribbean Village and a kid zone at the event. Children under 12 are free. VIP Tickets: $100 online, more at the gate.

The Junior Carnival is an annual parade and Caribbean inspired family event that gives young people the opportunity to celebrate their place within the Caribbean culture. Admission: $5.00

Friday, October 11, 2013-King and Queen and Panorama @ Carnival Village-Central Broward Regional Park(3700 NW 11th Pl, Lauderhill,Fl 33311)-Performances by Lauderhill Steel Ensemble, Miami Pan Symphony, New Generation Branches, Pantastic Steel , Resurrection Steel and Silver Stars USA. Admission: $12.00 advance and more at the park. Time: 5:30pm-11:00pm

Saturday, October 12, 2013-J’Ouvert (Central Broward Regional Park, 3700 NW 11th Pl, Lauderhill, Fl 33311).
Time: 7:00am. Featuring Steel Band and DJ Music, Body Paint, Mud, Water, Powder. Over 20 masquerade band participating. Admission: $12 advance and more at the park
