South Florida’s Africa Reconnect to celebrate incorporation

MIAMI – To celebrate the recent incorporation of Africa Reconnect, Inc., a special party and networking event will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008, at Great Kings Café, in Miami.

There will be free food, entertainment, and a fashion show, in addition to a great opportunity to do some Black History Month mixing. Also, for the edutainment of the audience, there will be a continuous showing of videos highlighting the work of Africa Reconnect, as well as aspects of the cultural life of some of the various member organizations that comprise Africa Reconnect, Inc.

“From little acorns grow tall and vibrant oak trees!” asserts the co-chair, and founding member, Desmond Alufohai, who is from Nigeria. “The seeds of the Africa Reconnect Inc., was planted in 2002.”

He added that presently Africa reconnect is a “…vibrant organization that actively promotes the renaissance of the Diaspora movement by encouraging and facilitating the utilization of the collective talents and resources of the African Diaspora in the Americas and Caribbean.”

The Mission of Africa Reconnect is to promote African culture and heritage in the Diaspora, and to reconnect with the African Motherland. New members who join this cultural and educational organization at this event will receive free membership for the first year.

The party begins at 9:00 p.m., at Great Kings Café, 13914 NW 7th Ave., located across from the Flea Market. Everyone is invited to attend and admission is FREE. Bring along your drum or other musical instrument.
