South Florida Caribbean Advertising and Marketing firm spearheaded promotional campaign for Antigua Carnival
FORT LAUDERDALE – In an effort to boost attendance of their yearly Carnival, the Antigua Carnival Development Committee (ACDC), retained the services of Caribbean Vibes, Inc. (CVI) an advertising and marketing firm own by Antiguan James K. Dyer CEO, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
CVI was specifically created to serve the advertising and marketing needs of Caribbean businesses in the continental U.S. and the Caribbean. It is the goal of Caribbean Vibes to increase visibility and help these businesses to realize their full potentials outside of the region. The Staff at CVI are uniquely qualified for this because of its diversification, Caribbean heritage, and over 50 years of combined experience.
Following negotiations in 2004, CVI embarked on a Marketing and Promotion strategy in the US for Antigua Carnival 2005. The promotion which spanned over 6 months included targeted events throughout Florida, Atlanta and New York. This avenue of promotion created awareness for Antigua’s Carnival exposing it to a cross section of ethnicities which had little or no knowledge of this Cultural Exposition which dates back to 1957.
To further execute the promotion of Antigua’s Carnival 2005 CVI orchestrated the first major Media Advertising campaign for Antigua’s Carnival throughout the US. Drawing on the relationships with its numerous Media Houses CVI negotiated with BET, not only to advertise Antigua’s Carnival on its Network, but also to shoot footage of Antigua and Antigua’s Carnival to be broadcast for Antigua’s Independence Homecoming 2005 schedule for October 21st – November 1st.
Media Partners
As part of the Media Advertising Campaign WSRF ‘Mystic’ 1580 AM in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and WWRL 1600 AM in New York played very vital roles as the official stations and radio partners promoting Antigua’s Carnival 2005 in their respective States.
Radio Partners such as the ‘Tom Joyner Morning Show’ on KISS 104.1 FM in Atlanta, JAMZ 102 FM in Orlando, Reggae Vibes on Power 96 FM in Miami, its syndicated program on over 200 stations in the US, Canada and Europe and WAVS 1170 AM in Davie, Florida was also a part of the strategic Campaign.
Other Media outlets included the Print media of which special acknowledgement must be made of the Caribbean National Weekly Newspaper, the Gleaner, South Florida Extra and Caribbean Commentary newspaper, which carried several months of advertising to include editorial write-ups about the event.
To assist the Antigua Carnival Development Committee a CVI staff member was on hand to coordinate the activities and Media Production of the over 35 Press members that was covering Antigua’s Carnival 2005. It is perceived by many, that the collaboration between the Antigua Carnival Development Committee and CVI has added a boost to the Islands economy and has given the Carnival a center stage making truly the ‘Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival’.
