Soca Warriors Coming To Florida For World Cup Qualifying Match

Bus Ride Scheduled For The Soca Warriors vs. U.S. Men’s National Team World Cup Qualifying Match

SOUTH FLORIDA – Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors are gearing up to take on the U.S. National Men’s Team in a 2018 World Cup Qualifying Match on September 6, 2016 8pm at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

Trinidad’s Soca Warriors currently sit atop Group 3 of CONCACAF qualifying with 10 points, the U.S. are second in the group with 7 points.

The winner of the match will more than likely be assured a place in the next round of quaifying, in the hexagonal round.  The “hex” as it is commonly referred to is comprised of 6.  Each team will play the other 5 teams both home and away, dates ranging from the 11th of November 2016 until the 10th of October 2017.

Enthusiasm for the match is particularly high amongst Trinidad and Tobago Nationals living in Florida and Georgia as they are eager for an opportunity to see their team return to the World Cup.

The Soca Warriors last played in the United States in the summer of 2015, where they advanced to the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup only to lose to Panama 6-5 on penalty kicks after 90 minutes of regulation play and 30 minutes of extra time.

The Gold Cup campaign included a 4-4 draw with a spectacular goal from corner kick in the 93rd minute after being down 3-1 to eventual Gold Cup Champion Mexico.

Soca Warriors Bus Ride

To help facilitate transportation to the September 6th match in Jacksonville, FL a Soca Warrior Bus ride is being organized.

The bus is scheduled to leave from Caribbean Sunshine Bakery Plaza, at 2528 W Colonial Drive Orlando at roughly 10:35 am.  Patrons will be driven to Jacksonville, where they will be fed lunch and entertained from approximately 1pm-5pm.  At 5:30 patrons will then be transported to the stadium to engage in pre-game tailgating before the 8pm kickoff.

The bus will return to the pick-up location in Orlando following the conclusion of the match.

The cost of transportation and lunch is $50.  This cost does not include the cost of the game ticket, (patrons are encouraged to secure their tickets at Ticketmaster ASAP to ensure they have one).  A non-refundable deposit of $30 for the bus ride is due by Aug 29.

Patrons are asked to limit their luggage to one knapsack or personal item, a cooler will be provided for those wishing to bring beverages.  Any other luggage will be accommodated on a space available basis.
