Soca Gold Live Resumes Miami Caribbean Carnival Friday Night International Concert Celebrations Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Miami — On Friday, October 11th, 2013, (Miami Carnival Friday Night) attendees from the Caribbean islands, the nation’s top cities, and other international locations will gather once again for an island concert extravanga at the Armory in Downtown Fort Lauderdale (SR 84 and 4th Ave) starting at 9pm.

The Miami Carnival Friday Night event, a must for Soca, (a fusion of Soul and Calypso) lovers will kick off the Miami Carnival Weekend with an all-star line-up featuring the Caribbean’s No 1 Band out of Trinidad – the sensational Roy Cape All Stars & their Hot lead singer, Blaxx, singing, “No Getaway”, “Leh Go” and much more; Iwer George, the proclaimed King of Trinidad and Tobago dancehalls, singing his new hit, “Bubble”; two of the hottest artists out of Barbados, the crowd pleasing, pulsating, Red Plastic Bag and Edwin Yearwood, the founder and lead singer of one of the Caribbean’s most well know and successful Soca bands, Krosfyah, with two of his new hits, “Pushing it” and “Work that Thing”.

There’s more, the Soca Gold Live Miami Carnival Friday Night event will also feature, the seven-time Grenada Calypso Monarch, Ajamu, a Soca old time Grand Daddy, Lord Nelson, and, WCK, Dominica’s No 1 Band, and much, much more.

Since their first event in 2001 at the Diplomat Hotel in Downtown Miami, the South Florida Organization of Caribbean Art (SOCA) has brought the best Caribbean Soca artists to South Florida for Miami Carnival Friday Night.

The annual Soca Gold Live Friday event was moved to Broward in 2002. After a brief hiatus in 2009, Soca Gold Live is being re-launched in 2013 as a project of S.O.C.A., Inc.
