HOLLYWOOD – Reggae superstars Sean Paul and Shaggy will bring the Caribbean Dancehall craze to Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, December 11 at 8 p.m.

Sean Paul, a singer from Kingston, has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. He is the most successful Jamaican artist on the U.S. charts. This success comes from three #1 pop singles and five top ten hits.

The Jamaican dancehall superstar first sparked the world with his 2000 debut, Stage One. In 2002, his career gained international attention with his breakout hit, “Gimme The Light.” Hot on the heels of his multi-platinum, Grammy-winning classic album, Dutty Rock, he dropped the 2005 RIAA platinum smash, The Trinity. That album led off with the Top 10 single “We Be Burnin’,” followed by the #1 smash “Temperature.” His fourth album released earlier this year is entitled Imperial Blaze.

Paul also has recorded many hit duets – including the recent remix of Estelle’s “Come on Over,” “Give It Up To Me” with Keyshia Cole, “Break It Off” with Rihanna, “Baby Boy” with Beyonce, and “Give It to You Girl” with Eve. He has also collaborated with hip-hop stars like 50 Cent, The Clipse, and Busta Rhymes.

He won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist in 2006. Sean Paul beat Kanye West and Nick Lachey to get the award.

Grammy Winner Shaggy

After ten years, six albums, and two multi-platinum records, Shaggy is still making music. He has five #1 hits and 11 top ten singles worldwide. This Grammy-winner continues to celebrate his culture through his songs.

In the early 1990s, Kingston, Jamaica’s Shaggy (Orville Richard Burrell) entered the scene with his remix of the Ska classic “Oh Carolina,” the first major Reggae record to come out of the dancehall underground. Soon after, the steady dub rhythm of the platinum-selling Boombastic solidified Shaggy as a dancehall hit-maker winning the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

Hotshot dropped in 2000 and became the best-selling album in 2001, moving over 13 million albums worldwide and topping the charts in the US, UK, Germany and Australia, simultaneously. The album was seven times platinum-certified in Canada and six times platinum in the US. Hotshot rocketed to the top of the charts with two phenomenal singles, “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.”

Clothes Drop (2005) gave his audience chart topping dancehall singles like “Wild2Nite” and “Ready Fi Di Ride.” In early 2007, his single “Church Heathen” started to take over the dancehall scene. The video featured the legendary Ninjaman as a priest, which helped its popularity. The hit single landed on Shaggy’s album Intoxication released that same year and was nominated for a Grammy award.

He has collaborated with artists such as Redd Foxx, Screechy Dan, Rik Rok and Rayvon.
