Raging Fyah Pays Tribute To The Crown Prince Of Reggae, Dennis Brown

By Rob Kenner

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Although it may sound like a lame pun to call Raging Fyah the hottest band in Kingston, the group is currently burning up the dance and today we’re premiering their video for “Milk and Honey,” a track from We Remember Dennis Brown, a double-disc tribute album to the Crown Prince of Reggae.

At a time when Jamaican music is all over the worldwide pop charts — with much of it performed by Canadians and Barbadians — it’s refreshing to hear Jamaican musicians do their thing.

The group, which has done crucial collabs with dancehall artists such as Busy Signal, Jesse Royal, and Polynesian crooner J Boog, is a five-piece ensemble featuring Kumar Bent on lead vocals, Courtland White on guitar, Demar Gayle on keys and Anthony Watson and Delroy “Pele” Hamilton on drum and bass, respectively, representing Jamaican music at its best.

Raging Fyah’s rendition of “Milk and Honey” first set the web ablaze earlier this year, the month of D. Brown’s birth, but today comes Nile Saulter and Jason Panton’s exquisitely shot video, depicting both sides of paradise in real life.

Raging Fyah is currently touring the United States.
