KINGSTON, Jamaica – With 11 nominations each, University Players A Tempest and Kwanzaa Productions Jamaica 2 Rahtid Pupalick head the list of nominees for this year’s Actor Boy Awards. Both productions have received the judge’s nod for Best Production, Best Director, and Choreography.
Pupalick also has three actors up for awards, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Christopher Daley; Best Actress in a Supportng Role, Zandriann Maye and Dahlia Harris; as well as nominations for Best Revue, New Jamaican Play, Original Score, Original Song – Nutten Nah Gwan and Gangsta’s Mercy.
The play will make its first overseas run this weekend playing in Orlando at the Wakeiva High School on Saturday, March 14, at 8:00 p.m. and at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 15, at 7:00 p.m.
The Actor Boy Award presentation ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at the Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston, Jamaica and among the awardees that evening will be Wycliffe Bennett CD for his sterling contribution to Jamaican theatre.
