Princess Cruises ships to bring thousands of passengers during 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Cruise tourism stakeholders in St. Kitts can look forward to better days ahead as ships of the Princess Cruises Line are expected to bring thousands of passengers to the island over the next two seasons.

Three of Princess Cruises six ships are booked to visit St. Kitts’ Port Zante during the upcoming 2009/2010 and 2010 and 2011 Cruise Ship Seasons.

The Emerald Princess, Grand Princess and Sea Princess will make a combined total of 50 visits between September 2010 and April 2011.

The 113,000, Emerald Princess offers 10-day Eastern and Southern Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale. The 3,114-passenger and 1,200 crew ship on its Eastern Caribbean Voyager itinerary, will call at Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Thomas and Princess Cays. Emerald Princess will offer 23 sailings between September 19, 2010 and April 27, 2011.

The 100,000-ton Grand Princess 14-day Caribbean Collection itinerary sails from Florida to Aruba, Curaçao, Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and Grand Turk. The Grand Princess, which has a passenger capacity of 2,600 and crew of 1,100, will offer 15 departures between October 11, 2010 and April 25, 2011.

Sea Princess’ alternating 14-day Caribbean voyages from Barbados features calls at Tobago, Grenada, Bonaire, Aruba, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, Tortola, Antigua, St. Kitts and Dominica.

The 77,000 ton ship, which has a passenger capacity of 1,950 passengers and 900 crew, has St. Kitts on a seven-day sailing to Martinique, Dominica, Tortola and Princess Cays. Sea Princess will sail on 14 departures between October 25, 2010 and April 18, 2011.

During the upcoming 2009/2010 Cruise Ship Season, Caribbean Princess, Sea Princess and Ruby Princess have scheduled calls to St. Kitts.

The 113,000 ton Caribbean Princess, which has a passenger capacity of 3,100 passengers and 1200 crew offers a one eight-day Bermuda & Eastern Caribbean sailing from New York to San Juan calling at Bermuda, St. Kitts, Antigua and St. Thomas, departing October 24, 2009.

Ruby Princess’ Eastern Caribbean Voyager itinerary features nine sailings with calls at Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Thomas and Princess Cays. The season for the 116,000 tonne-3080 passenger Ruby Princess runs between October 25, 2009 and April 29, 2010.

Grand Princess will offer during the 2009/2010 cruise ship season, nine visits between December 21st 2009 and April 23rd 2010. Passengers will explore the islands with a 14-day Caribbean Collection itinerary roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale to Grand Turk, La Romana, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Vincent, Barbados, Trinidad, Curacao and Aruba.

Sea Princess will also offer seven sailings on a Grand Caribbean Adventurer itinerary that features stops at St. Vincent, Grenada, Bonaire, Aruba, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Samana, Tortola, St. Kitts, Antigua and Dominica.
