Damian Jr. Gong Marley will be at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square (14th St. and Broadway), New York on September 12, 11pm for an exclusive performance and signing for the highly anticipated release of his new album “WELCOME TO JAMROCK.” Only 175 fans will be guaranteed entry to the show. Fans who purchase the CD that night will get there copy autographed personally by Damian Jr. Gong Marley. So don’t get left outside, out in the street it’s Murrrr-der!!!!!
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
Born in Kingston, Jamaica to Bob Marley and Cindy Breakspeare, Damian Jr. Gong Marley is the youngest of the Marley children. Music has been with him since his conception, performing at his first Reggae Sunsplash at the age of 14. His first album won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album – “Halfway Tree” (2001) and his second album is sure to garner the same response from music lovers.
“Welcome To Jamrock” tells the truth about ghetto life in Jamaica. His lead single which shares the same title has taken over the airwaves. The remaining 13 songs on the album produced by Damian and Stephen Marley, joined with the single, provide 14 thought- provoking, melodic and sensual tracks. Guest appearances include NAS, Bobby Brown, Bounty Killer and Black Thought of The Roots.
