Port Of Miami gearing up for the arrival of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic

MIAMI – The Port of Miami is gearing up for the arrival of Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) newest ship, the Norwegian Epic.

“The Norwegian Epic is one of the largest and most well-appointed cruise ships in the world,” said Port of Miami Director Bill Johnson.

The Port of Miami—the world’s busiest cruise port with more than 4 million passengers annually—is working around the clock to prepare to add this fantastic new ship, one of the most modern cruise liners on the seas today, to its already impressive line-up.

“Everyone, from our porters to our terminal operators, is thrilled to welcome one of the most innovative and luxurious cruise ships in the marketplace today,” Director Johnson said.

The Epic’s arrival coincides with the Port’s next phase of customer service: “Miami Begins with Me”.

The Port of Miami, in conjunction with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, and Miami Dade College, is putting hundreds of its frontline workers through special training as part of the “Miami Begins with Me” customer service campaign.

After a series of inaugural events in New York over the 4th of July weekend, the 4,100 passenger Norwegian Epic, arrives in Miami, its homeport, on July 7th with festivities at Bicentennial Park starting at 2 p.m.
