FORT LAUDERDALE – Organizing for America-Florida will celebrate the grand opening of a new Miramar office this evening with Broward County Commissioner Barbara Sharief and local supporters and volunteers.
On Friday, OFA-Florida celebrated the opening of a new Coral Springs office on Sample Road. Both new offices will serve as a home base where volunteers for President Obama and other Democrats will connect with voters about the President’s accomplishments for Floridians and his promises kept since taking office.
With less than 50 days left until Election Day and less than three weeks until the voter registration deadline on Oct. 9, the campaign continues its commitment to grow its volunteer-driven efforts across the state.
To win Florida, supporters and volunteers know that they must register voters and build enthusiasm from the ground up, and they are going block-by-block and neighborhood-by-neighborhood to show the President that Floridians will have his back on Election Day.
Through trainings, planning sessions, house parties and phone banks, supporters of all backgrounds are active every day to ensure Floridians know how President Obama is fighting to protect the progress we’ve made together in moving this country forward.
Mitt Romney wants to be President of the United States, but he has written off nearly half the country. He shockingly declared to a group of wealthy donors that nearly half of the American people – 47 percent – see themselves as “victims” who are entitled to handouts and refuse to take “personal responsibility” for their lives. Romney is failing the character test and ignoring the facts about the Americans he’s writing off – most of which are seniors, working families, students or people with disabilities.
President Obama knows Americans have a choice in this election between two fundamentally different visions of how to grow the economy, create middle-class jobs and pay down the debt. Either we can continue to embrace the values that make our country great and grow the economy from the middle out, or we can go backward to the failed, top-down policies of the past.
