Jamaican Women Of Florida (JWOF) hosts “Ole Tyme Jamaican Gran’ Market” ™ and Community Thanksgiving Food Drive
SOUTH FLORIDA – Jamaican Women of Florida, Inc. (JWOF) brings a slice of Jamaican lifestyle and culture to Miramar, Florida on Saturday, November 21, 2015 with the second staging of “Ole Tyme Jamaican Gran Market” ™ at Christway Baptist Church Grounds 3800 S. Douglas Road, Miramar, FL 33023 from 11AM to 5PM.
JWOF is tapping into the nostalgia of Jamaican “Gran Market” and the Holiday Arts & Craft Fairs in Jamaica by bringing the concept to South Florida to coincide with the traditional kick off of the Christmas shopping season in the United States at Thanksgiving.
Local artisans with a variety of unique items that cannot be found in stores along with a Farmer’s Market selling fresh produce will be presented. The event will also feature a Children’s Reading Corner, Storytelling and full day of entertainment.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
This year JWOF has combined their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive with Gran’ Market. Thirteen separate locations across Miami-Dade and Broward counties serve as drop off locations for non-perishable food items that will be given to Life Net 4 Families of Broward County.

“Gran Market” is a shopping extravaganza so patrons are reminded to come prepared to shop for the holidays. Admission is free for children under 12 years of age and Adults are asked to donate $5 towards the JWOF Powerful Women…Next Generation Scholarship; food and drinks will be on sale. Entertainment for children and adults will be provided.
