OAS Secretary General Receives Foreign Minister of Trinidad and Tobago

WASHINGTON, DC – The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Winston Dookeran, in his office in Washington DC.

The meeting took place within the context of the forum on “Global Governance and Reform of the International Financial System,” hosted by the OAS. Secretary General Insulza and Foreign Minister Dookeran discussed the need for greater coordination between hemispheres on financial policies, greater transparency of information, and the recent Americas-Africa Business Forum, held last week at OAS headquarters.

Also taking part in the meeting were the Assistant Secretary General of the OAS, Albert Ramdin; the First Deputy Managing Director of the Institute of International Finance, Hung Tran; the President of the US Association of the Club of Rome, Francesco Stipo; and the Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago to the OAS, among others.
