NY Based Jamaican Charity COJO Presents Scholarships to Top Jamaican In State Wards

Jamaican charity Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) Inc. presents $25,000 in Scholarships

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Six outstanding wards of the state were recently honored by the New York based Jamaican charity Children of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) Inc. for academic excellence.

Gary Williams, Founder & Chairman of COJO presented the scholarships to the six scholars at an awards luncheon on September 12 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, where Chorvelle Johnson, CEO of Sagicor Bank served as on special guest.

COJO Founder & Chairman Gary Williams along with Rosalee Gage-Grey, CEO, Child Protection and Family Services Agency and Chorvelle Johnson, Sagicor Bank CEO presented cheques to the  2018 scholarship recipients, Jody-Ann Jackson, a Social Work student at Northern Caribbean University; Kentania Campbell, a second year student at Moneague College; Nabita Smith, a second year student at Mico University College; Adrianna Parchment, a third year student at the University of Technology; Omario Thorpe, a second year student at the University of the West Indies and Phallon Walsh, student at Northern Caribbean University.

Thorpe was the recipient of the Suzette Henriques Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of COJO Founder Gary Williams’ sister.

The funds are raised each year from its Annual Benefit Raffle and its scholarship gala held in December.
