FT. LAUDERDALE – Two-time National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers player Tyrone Carter and Green Bay Packer Al Harris will be honored by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the Governmental Center, 115 S. Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion, Jr., will present the players with a Key to the County and proclamations in recognition of their community service and outstanding athletic performance. Both NFL players live in Broward County.

Tyrone Carter recently visited Blanche Ely High in Pompano Beach, where he graduated in 1995, to speak with the students about being successful. He also sponsors an annual fun day in the community during the summer and handed out thousands of turkeys on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Green Bay Packer and 2009 Pro-Bowl player Al Harris is also a Blanche Ely High School graduate. He enters his sixth season as a Green Bay Packer and played both quarterback and cornerback at the Blanche Ely High. Harris founded a program called “Hope for Homes,” which provides education and assistance for people to help avoid foreclosure on their homes.
