NEW YORK – Jamaica’s professional tennis star Dustin Brown (left) served up some Jamaican culinary delights at the 15th Annual Taste of Tennis held at the W New York Hotel on Thursday, August 21. Anthony King (right), Regional Director, Airline & Tour Operator at the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Gael Monfils (center), French professional tennis player, take a break from hosting duties at the ultimate kick-off celebration to the US Open. Secrets Resort & Spa in Montego Bay partnered with the JTB in hosting the Get All Right Lounge where Chef Paul Evans dished out mouth-watering Chicken Roullete stuffed with pumpkin and glazed with jerk sauce.
Jamaica Tourist Board’s Business Development Manager Marcia Sinclair, enjoys the company of Brenden Reardon, Executive Chef of The Wayfarer at The Quin, while jamming to the sounds of Ruff Stuff reggae band at the Get All Right Lounge. More than 600 New York City trendsetters, food lovers, tennis fans, top chefs and pro tennis players attended the event, which had the partnership support of the Jamaica Tourist Board and Secrets Resorts and Spa. Attendees were treated to a delightful offering of Chicken Roullete stuffed with pumpkin and glazed with jerk sauce, prepared and served by Paul Evans, Executive Sous Chef, at the Montego Bay resort.
Venus Williams (right), winner of four Grand Slam titles, was the guest deejay at the Taste of Tennis event at the W New York Hotel, one of the highlights of Taste of Tennis Week.. The weeklong celebration serves as the kick-off to the US Open where the world’s greatest tennis players and New York’s top chefs showcase their culinary skills.The Jamaica Tourist Board partnered with Secrets Resorts and Spa, joining some 25 of New York City’s top chefs at the star-studded event. Chef Paul Evans prepared a delectable dish of Chicken Roullete stuffed with pumpkin and glazed with jerk sauce and served it up with some great Jamaican music inside the Get All Right Lounge. The US Open is the last of the four major tournaments that comprise the Grand Slam, and starts Monday, August 25 and runs through September 8.
