Montserrat Marketing Efforts Expand Into The French Caribbean

Brades, Montserrat – The Montserrat Tourist Board (MTB) has expanded their marketing initiatives to include neighboring French islands Guadeloupe and Martinique. With the assistance of Market One, the newly appointed French Caribbean representatives to the island, promotional materials including the Rediscover Montserrat brochure and content on the tourism website, have been translated into French.

“It is important for us to overcome the language barrier and reinforce ties with our Caribbean neighbors Guadeloupe and Martinique,” said Ernestine Cassell, director of tourism. “With the addition of our new marketing tools we will be able to tap into their market and further promote Montserrat as the unique and beautiful island that it is.”

Considered the main promotional piece of the MTB, the Rediscover Montserrat brochure, an eight-page color catalogue that features information on volcano adventures, villa rentals, hiking, diving and unique festivals including St. Patrick’s Week, has now been printed in French.

The MTB also revamped the tourism website to include the ability to access the brochure as well as other destination information in French. By clicking on the French flag icon on the homepage, visitors are directed to a welcome message in French, as well as clickable links to download sales and press kit information.

In addition, the MTB has worked with Vert Intense, a Guadeloupe-based nature tour operator, to offer visitors from the French islands an eco-adventure package on Montserrat. The three-day customized trip takes travelers on a visit to the Montserrat Volcano Observatory for the chance to watch historic footage of the volcano’s eruption, as well as catch a glimpse of the waking mountain from the safest vantage point, a rainforest mountain hike that offers panoramic views of the island and a snorkeling trip at one of the island’s secluded dark-sand beaches.
