Miss Florida Caribbean 2005, Rochelle Hussey to represent Jamaica at the Miss Caribbean World Pageant

FORT LAUDERDALE – Rochelle Hussey, Miss Florida Caribbean 2005, a 24 year old Howard University Student majoring in Theater Arts with a minor in Caribbean Studies will represent Jamaica at the Second Annual Coronation of Miss Caribbean World.

The Pageant will be held June 3, 2006 at the Guffman Center, British Virgin Islands. It is open to Caribbean women between the ages of 17-26 who posses beauty, talent and intelligence.
Ms. Hussey will leave via American Airlines on May 30, 2006 and return June 4th, 2006. She will participate in numerous activities on the islands.

She will be judged in four categories National Costume, Performing Arts, Swimsuit Fitness, and Evening Gown. Ms. Hussey will wear a national costume designed by Trinidadian designer Kurt Franklin of Alteration by Kurt and swimsuit provided by Ritchie Swimwear.

If this year’s pageant is anything like the one held last year, the girls will be in for a treat; In 2005 Elite Entertainment Productions producers of the annual Miss Florida Caribbean Pageant had the opportunity of sending two representatives, Amanda Tazaz of Grenada and Deidra Lawrence of Jamaica to represent their respective Countries.

These girls returned having had the privilege of being interviewed on the radio, participating in a road parade which alerted the people of the delegates’ arrival on the island, having lunch and dinner at exquisite restaurants, touring the island, and last but not least being able to meet new friends from other Caribbean countries.

As Ms. Hussey prepares herself for the Miss Caribbean World Pageant we would like to wish her best of luck. And as she will be representing her native island, Jamaica, it is safe to say Ms. Hussey, do not feel that you will be alone in another man’s island because it is true, Jamaicans are everywhere, even in the British Virgin Islands.
