Miami-Dade Chamber Of Commerce Presents Business Empowerment Networking Series: Marketing and Brand Development

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce presents its latest Business Empowerment Networking Series (BENS) installment, Marketing and Brand Development. The informative session will be held at Parrot Jungle Island on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30p.m. This networking series will feature a thorough panel discussion with distinguished, prominent business leaders on how to successfully and strategically develop and market a corporate and personal/ professional brand.

The luncheon will feature keynote speaker, Harriette Cole, Editor in Chief and Creative Director for Ebony magazine, the No. 1 magazine for African Americans reaching 12 million readers each issue. Cole has an exceptional record of accomplishments throughout her more than 20 years of experience in the journalism and fashion industries.

In her current role at Ebony Magazine, she leads the editorial team and guides the overall creative design. Harriette previously reached millions of readers for 11 years as lifestyle and fashion director at Essence magazine. She was also the editor of American Legacy Woman, a lifestyle magazine targeted to African-American women. Cole also served as editorial director for Uptown, a lifestyle magazine for the urban elite.

She is a nationally syndicated columnist of “Sense and Sensitivity,” a lifestyles column targeting diverse audiences. Cole is also an accomplished author of several books including How to Be: A Guide to Living with Grace and Integrity as well as the preeminent African-American Wedding Planner, Jumping the Broom and Vows. In her work as a fashion, lifestyles, and etiquette expert, Cole is a recurring guest on The Today Show and has made several appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The panelists participating in the BENS are: CEO of Own Your Power Communications and Author, Simone Kelly Brown; CMO of the Orange Bowl Committee, Christina Francis; E-Commerce Marketing Specialist at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Malaika Moran; and CEO and President of On The Ball Marketing, Steve Nudelberg. In addition, serving as the facilitator for the panel discussion is CEO of Blueprint Creative Group, Fabiola Fleuranvil.

The networking series is open to the public and is $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members. Exhibition space for your business is also available for $30 for members and $40 for non-members; however, space is limited.
