Miami City Hall to Host

Miami – Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, The Spanish American League Against Discrimination (S.A.L.A.D.), together with the Consulate of the Dominican Republic will host “Working Through A Foreclose Seminar”, at Miami City Hall on June 11, 2010, from 5:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

The goal is to educate and assist families facing foreclosure and economic hardship in the City of Miami. The event is free and open to the public. Individuals seeking counseling will have the opportunity to address their concerns and issues to a panel of industry professionals.

The “Working Through A Foreclose Seminar” is part of Mayor Regalado’s continuing effort to assist residents most in need of foreclosure counseling.

The Spanish American League Against Discrimination was founded in 1974 to help Hispanics and other minorities fight for their rights. S.A.L.A.D. opened its Pro-Bono Foreclosure Defense Office on January 2010 after being granted a recipient of special funds from The Office of the Attorney General of Florida Bill McCollum. The organization has taken on the challenge to help and represent members of the community currently being affected by the foreclosure crisis.

In order to qualify for assistance in the Pro-Bono Foreclosure Defense Project, participants must meet the following requirements:

• Gross annual household income must be under $100,000

• The home must be the primary place of residence
