Martinique’s 6th annual culinary festival in Montréal brings back the island’s fine cuisine and a bunch of exciting flavors!

MONTRÉAL – The very popular Martinique Gourmande Festival, the most expected annual culinary rendez-vous between Martinique and Québec is back in restaurants and bars of the Greater Montréal area from September 7th to 22nd.

Québécois will be able to discover or rediscover the cuisine of the Island of Flowers, a subtle but powerful blend of French, African, Indian and Caribbean influences.
Those willing to take the experience further will be able to enter the Martinique Gourmande sweepstakes for a chance to win a gourmet trip for two to Martinique!

The Martinique Tourism Authority in Canada, which launched the festival in 2008, will host a press junket on Tuesday September 3rd, where journalists will be able to meet chefs and representatives from the participating establishments, as well as one special guest coming straight from the island.

The return of Chef Guy Ferdinand

Chef Guy Ferdinand, a.k.a Chef Hot Pants, known worldwide for his uncommon outfits, but most of all for his authentic cuisine based on fresh local products, is back by popular demand.
“It is an honour and a great pleasure to be back to celebrate the gastronomy and art de vivre of Martinique with our friends from Québec. We share this love of good food and a strong sense of friendliness. I’m happy to be able to help bring out our beautiful island of Martinique, its generosity and its savoir-faire,” says Ferdinand, who owns two restaurants in Martinique, Le Babaorum in Fort-de-France and Le Petibonum in Le Carbet.

Guy Ferdinand will co-host the media launching of the 6th edition of the Martinique Gourmande Festival on Tuesday September 3rd with a surprise guest!

The list of participating establishments and terms and conditions for the sweepstakes will be unveiled on September 3rd on the website http://www.martiniquegourmande.ca/
