Manoucheka Thermitus elected board chairperson of South Florida Haitian Women’s Group
MIAMI – FANM’s (Haitian Women of Miami, Inc.) Board of Directors proudly announces the selection of Manoucheka Thermitus as its incoming board chairperson.
Ms. Thermitus grew up in South Florida and has served as a leader on challenges facing youth generally and young Haitian women specifically.
She has a corporate background with Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Macy’s, where she worked for five years; attended the University of Florida, majoring in political science and education; was in its Hall of Fame for 2000, her graduating year; and is Who’s Who Among Colleges and Universities.
Of her new leadership role, Ms.Thermitus said, “I’m really delighted and humble to become the board chairperson of an organization that is so vital and respected in our community.” Added FANM Executive Director Marleine Bastien, “Ms. Thermitus brings youth, experience, and perspective which will be invaluable in leading FANM in meeting the challenges faced by Haitian families today.”
