TOY BOY is a love story with a difference and like most Basil Dawkins plays can be categorized as a dramedy (drama/comedy or ‘laafta wid substants’ ). It is the story of a lonely widow who has been ostracized by her peers after the death of her husband. She ‘rescues ‘ a homeless man and becomes intrigued by his ‘knowledge and intelligence’ which at times is so advance it borders on ‘madness’. She restores him to the point where he becomes not only her friend and confidante but also her Toy Boy.
