Lauderhill’s 20/20 International Night Cricket finals this weekend

LAUDERHILL – The 6th successful season of Lauderhill’s 20/20 International Night Cricket is about to end on a high note! After four months of music, commentary, and fast passed competitive cricket, Team Jamaica and Team Pakistan will meet again – for a rematch – in the finals.

This season of Saturday Night Sports at the Lauderhill Sports Park is particularly special to the participants and spectators of the Goldson Cricket Cup and CASA Super League.

“As Lauderhill is faced with tax cuts, the need for true community partners to underwrite sports programs has become a necessity. Private partners have made it happen here in Lauderhill and I am thrilled that Goldson Spine Rehabilitation came on board. I hope that other businesses will follow Dr. Goldson’s lead,” states Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness.

The Goldson Spine Rehabilitation Center stepped up and became the title sponsor to ensure the Lauderhill 20/20 International Night Cricket league continued in its existence. “It was our way of giving back to the community, we are proud to be the Cricket Chiropractors,” states Dr. Fidel Goldson, Sr. Amera Inc. is also a major sponsor of the event and has been part of Lauderhill’s 20/20 International Night Cricket league for several years as well.

The Goldson Cricket Cup Finals – Team Jamaica vs. Team Pakistan – will begin this Saturday, the 31st of May, at 6 pm with music by DJ Bagga.

The season’s award presentation will immediately follow the finals.

CASA’s 3rd and 4th place game will begin at 5 pm between the Ft. Lauderdale Blazers (last year’s champions) and B.C. United. There will be a mini match between the CASA Coaches and Referees in between matches, followed by a performance by Tinga Stewart.

The championship game will be between the Western United and Unity F.C. at 8:30 pm. Title sponsors for the CASA Super League includes Western Union, Carl’s Seafood, and the Sun Sentinel.
