Kazz Forbes Saint George Fashion House F|W 2011 Collection Dazzles at the Red Rose Ball

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – Turks & Caicos very own Kazz Forbes went to The Bahamas with one clear agenda – leave people in awe and wanting more, as to the abundance of talent from his budding fashion ability.

Forbes, principal designer for the Saint George Fashion House (SGFH) label was invited to showcase his ‘Le Caicos Chic: A Romance with Decadence’ all black collection at this year’s prestigious Red Rose Ball: ‘A Night at the Opera House, Australia’ which took place on November 5th, 2011 in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

The Red Rose Ball is a charity fundraiser that sees all proceeds benefits the Grand Bahama AIDS Awareness Committee in Grand Bahama. Each year the gala was held under the distinguished patronage of The Rt. Hon. Hubert A. Ingraham, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and Mrs. Delores Ingraham.

Held at the Radisson Grand Ballroom at the Grand Lucayan, Forbes outdid himself when his collection opened the gala’s entertainment section with a bevy of statuesque models wearing his Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The three hundred plus attendees were left mesmerized and thrilled to see the professional models which featured TCI Top Model 2010 Ashley Smith along with Grand Bahamian models including Nu Woman Magazine’s Nu Face model, Shequera King, Theodore Elyett’s Miss Teen Bahamas 2011, Yamease Swain, and Miss Bahamas Earth 2011, Kerel Pinder.

Local Bahamian models were appreciative to not only be modeling for an international designer, but at such a prestigious event. “Kazz Forbes is a passionate and creative individual in the fashion world and knows what he wants down to every little detail. The clothing line from Saint George Fashion House is sexy, elegant, and impressionable all at once. He has a certain level with the style of clothing that I can really appreciate and respect,” said male model Drew Palacious. “Walking for such an amazing designer, and alongside TCI Top Model 2010 Ashley Smith at such a prestigious event was an unforgettable experience. It was an honor being chosen to showcase the finale gown,” said model Tomii Culmer of her experience. “Everything was extremely professional and the designs were very original. I would definitely do it again!” said Miss Earth Bahamas 2011, Kerel Pinder.

Elated by the success of his runway show, Forbes said, “The guests cheered and gave me an arousing round of applause. They said the showcase compared to that which may be seen in New York, Paris or London. I felt proud and honoured to bring an international flair to Bahamian shores,” said Kazz Forbes.

Forbes went on to say that he was impressed with the event and thankful to the Red Rose Ball Committee for extending the invite. He noted that this would be his first of many collections not only to be featured in The Bahamas, but also to headline at future Red Rose Balls.

The male and female models most certainly dazzled our guests, making us feel that we were at an international high fashion event.The Red Rose Ball Committee was very pleased with the high level performance, professionalism and talent of Kazz Forbes and his selection of models.” She was pleased to note that Saint George Fashion House has already signed on to open the Red Rose Ball 2012.
