JN Money Launches Online Remittance Service in the United States
SOUTH FLORIDA – JN Money Services (JNMS), owners of the JN Money brand, has launched its online remittance service website, JN Money Online in the United States.
The online remittance service is now available in all major send markets; UK, USA and Canada a first for a fully-owned Jamaican remittance company.
The online remittance service is available to persons who remit funds from the following states: New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Atlanta and Washington D.C.
The service, which was launched on December 17, 2016 to Jamaicans in Canada, also became available to persons in the United Kingdom in February of 2017.
“The United States is our largest market for remittances to Jamaica, accounting for more than 60 percent of the approximately US$2 billion sent back annually,” explained Horace Hines, general manager, JNMS.
“Persons in that market are also seeking safe, affordable and particularly convenient options to send funds to their loved ones in Jamaica. Therefore, our website will enable customers to transfer money with fees as low as $1.99 from the convenience of their home, while on the go, or at work,” he added.
Mr Hines explained that the website was targeted to persons, who prefer to do business online and who will enjoy the convenience of the online service; as well as, to keep up with global trends which indicate that the internet is fast becoming the preferred method to conduct money transfers.
“We also wanted to remind customers that this new service is in keeping with our commitment to provide them with a fast, affordable and convenient service,” he stated.
Mr Hines noted that a wide cross-section of Jamaicans live in the US, and this will ensure that a lot more persons will have access to the service.
Sheena Tomlinson, a New York resident, said that using JN Money Online was hassle free.
“I have had no problem using the service and it is convenient. You simply need to register to send funds. I plan to use it twice per month, because I can access it at anytime, and it is very easy to use,” the health care worker explained.
To send money transfers and pay bills, customers can simply visit JN Money Online and sign-up for the service, which includes completing the registration.
“Customers can also send funds, via the website, to accounts held at all financial institutions in Jamaica, and pay bills. Recipients of money transfers in Jamaica will be able to access their funds at any JN Money outlet, or at ATMs using the JN Money Transfer Card,” Mr Hines explained.
He also emphasised that extra effort was made to maintain the privacy and security of customer information.
“We are aware of the security concerns of our customers, in respect to the security of their information, he added. “As a result, we have implemented secure processes and features, to ensure that information is protected, and extensive tests are carried out to safeguard and maintain the security of the website.”
