Dr. Jill Stein, 2016 Green Party U.S. Presidential Candidate, to speak at Miami-Dade College
Miami – On Friday, September 30th, 2016, U.S. Green Party Presidential Candidate Dr. Jill Stein will be hosted at Miami Dade College to deliver a major keynote speech, highlighting the failure of Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates to seriously address economic, social, and political inequalities.
Dr. Stein, a Harvard-trained physician who ran against and publicly debated Mitt Romney in the race for Massachusetts Governor, will speak in Miami to conclude a Florida statewide tour that included Tampa and Orlando.
Former Bernie Sanders supporters, prominent Black, Latino, Asian, Jewish, and Arab leaders, and residents from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are expected to turn out in the hundreds to hear Dr. Stein’s plan to build a society that benefits all residents, not just the privileged few.
Dr. Stein will deliver her powerful keynote speech following introductory remarks from a number of local Black, Latino, and Arab leaders, including:
* Jasmen Rogers, Dream Defenders and Black Lives Matter Alliance
* Camilo Mejia, U.S. war veteran and author of “Road from Ar Ramadi”
* Elijah Manley, 16-year old Green Party member who ran for U.S. President
* Lis-Marie Güegüense, Immigrant Rights Activist featured in Al Jazeera documentary
* Anas Amireh, Co-Founder of Al-Awda Palestinian Right to Return Coalition
