MIAMI – This installment of Jazz on the Bay takes you on an ‘irie’ sojourn through the islands of the Caribbean, affording you the luxury of island hoping without the hassles! IslandFest 07 will showcase a variety of Caribbean music, food, culture so that the audience can really experience a taste of island life.
This grand event will begin around 11AM at Peacock Park located at 2820 McFarlane Road, Coconut Grove on Saturday, November 24, 2007.
At IslandFest 07 there is a little something for everyone! Let today’s top musician have you groove to the sounds of reggae, soca, and calypso. And when your finish grooving and start to feel famished—just make your way over to IrieEats where your taste buds will be delighted by spicy island flavors. Choose from popular island dishes such as Jerk Chicken, Peppered Shrimp, any style conch, and curry everything.
Scheduled to perform is Ziggy Marley, with recently released album Love is my Religion, Soca sensation, Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, Haitian Jazz Guitarist, Bemol Telfrot and Crossovah. The event is FREE!
