KINGSTON – On Monday, April 3, Prime Minister Portia announced 12 State Ministers to serve in the various Ministries.
They are: Fitz Jackson, Ministry of Finance and Planning; Errol Ennis and Victor Cummings, Ministry of Agriculture and Land; Noel Monteith, Ministry of Education and Youth; Floyd Morris, Ministry of Labour and Social Security; Kern Spencer, Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology (with Energy); Dr. Donald Rhodd, Ministry of National Security; Delano Franklyn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Richard Azan and Dr. Fenton Ferguson, Ministry of Housing, Transport & Works; Dr. Wykeham McNeill, Ministry of Tourism, Entertainment and Culture; and Harry Douglas, Ministry of Local Government and Environment.
A Minister of State has not been assigned to the Ministry of Health.
Speaking at a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Minister of Information and Development, Colin Campbell told journalists that the State Ministers were sworn in Tuesday, April 4, at a ceremony held at King’s House.
Last Friday (March 31), Ministers of the Government were sworn in at King’s House by Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Honourable Professor Kenneth Hall.
They are: Robert Pickersgill, Minister of Housing, Transport and Works; Dr. Omar Davies, Minister of Finance and Planning; Dr. Peter Phillips, Minister of National Security and Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives; Maxine Henry-Wilson, Minister of Education and Youth; Roger Clarke, Minister of Agriculture and Land; Senator A.J. Nicholson, Attorney General, Minister of Justice and Leader of Government Business in the Senate; Dean Peart, Minister of Local Government and Environment; Phillip Paulwell, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology (with Energy); Senator Anthony Hylton, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Aloun Ndombet-Assamba, Minister of Tourism, Entertainment and Culture; Horace Dalley, Minister of Health; Derrick Kellier, Minister of Labour and Social Security; and Senator Colin Campbell, Minister of Information and Development.
