Jamaica’s Diverse Meetings Product Celebrated At 11th Annual Jamaica Meetings Expo (JAMEX)

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Meetings industry professionals can mark their calendars for the 11th Annual Jamaica Meetings Expo (JAMEX), which will take place at Secrets St. James in Montego Bay, June 9 – 13, 2011. On the heels of the destination’s successful Montego Bay Convention Centre opening, JAMEX attendees will be able to experience the new complex and its meeting facilities. A yearly expo, JAMEX is designed to inform planners of Jamaica’s growing tourism offerings and allow them to experience its fascinating product first-hand.

“With the recent addition of the Montego Bay Convention Centre, JAMEX 2011 will underscore Jamaica’s position as an ideal venue for hosting meeting and convention groups of all sizes,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “This unique event will allow planners to build valuable relationships with many of the island’s suppliers.”

JAMEX’s format consists of pre-scheduled appointments in order to connect qualified planners with local hoteliers, Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and off-site venues. The event also offers networking opportunities, hotel site visits, team-building activities, and excursions to iconic attractions and shopping centers.

Participation in JAMEX is by invitation of the Jamaica Tourist Board, in association with tourism industry partners. Meeting and incentive travel professionals with key purchasing roles are encouraged to submit their application to attend. Planners can register to attend at: www.visitjamaica.com/meetings/jamex.aspx.
