Jamaica’s Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions to Attend Exchange Program on the U.S. Judicial System
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor heads to the United States this month for a three- week exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Embassy through the Department of State.
He will join 22 other attorneys, magistrates and legal professionals from around the world for the program, “U.S. Judicial Systems II”. He and the other participants will examine the U.S. judicial system within the framework of the federalist model and the separation of powers. They will also observe the U.S. trial process, court management systems, alternative dispute resolution, and judicial training opportunities while comparing the civil and criminal justice systems operating at the federal, state and municipal levels.

Taylor was nominated for the program by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy. He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley School of Law and has held several positions in the judicial system including Crown Counsel and Clerk of Court for the parish of St. Catherine.
