The ILO is the tripartite United Nations agency, which brings together officials of its member states with a common cause, to promote decent work worldwide. As a global body, the ILO is responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labor standards.

An important aspect explored, amidst discourse surrounding global, social and labor issues, at the ILO Conference is the examination of Global Reports submitted by member states.

The reports cover four fundamental rights that include freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining; the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor; the effective abolition of child labor; and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

As a member of the Jamaica Employers’ Federation (JEF), NCB remains committed to playing its part in advancing equal employment opportunities and apt working conditions for men and women.
