Jamaican Association of Miami-Dade Educators Annual Award Banquet May 8th

MIAMI – The Jamaican Association of Miami-Dade Educators, formerly and still affectionately referred to as JADE, cordially invites you to its Sixteenth Annual Award Banquet and Dance at Signature Gardens, located at 12725 S.W. 125 Ave. in Miami, on May 8, 2010, commencing at 8:00 P.M.

This organization will be awarding four scholarships of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each to high school graduates annually. Three of those students are Jamaicans, or of Jamaican heritage. The fourth scholarship, Humanitarian Award, is largely need based. It is usually awarded to a non-Jamaican.

Dr. Lloyd Cohen, founding member and Past President states: “The Humanitarian Scholarships have been awarded over the years to students of varying nationalities including Haitian American, Cuban American, and African American, among others. This is reflective of the community in which we live, work, and interact.” The scholarships are presented annually to JADE scholars at the annual Award Banquet.

Dress is formal. The total cover charge is $50. Everyone is invited to come out and celebrate the achievements of these youngsters, while supporting a worthy cause.

Following dinner and the award ceremony, supporters will be dancing to the music of Cosmic Force.
