Jamaican-American Entrepreneur launches Breakthrough! Seminars to empower business owners in South Florida

MIAMI – Jamaican-American entrepreneur, Andrew P. Yap is the President of LEASA Industries Co., Inc., a family-owned and operated tofu manufacturing, hydroponic sprout growing, and fresh vegetable processing and distribution operation located in Miami.

Yap has recently launched a series of Breakthrough! Seminars in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area with the purpose of empowering small business owners/managers and individuals who desire change with the tools and methods needed to effectively align their lives and their organizations.

These seminars are supported by online learning modules which provide subscribers with the necessary tools used to Ignite the Passion, Develop the Potential, and Experience the Prosperity.

Background

Since 1997 Andrew has been a business instructor at Florida International University’s (FIU) College of Business. As a business instructor at FIU, Mr. Yap has instructed many different courses including Organizational Behavior, Crisis Management, Strategic Management, International Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing Strategy, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Sales Management, among others.

More than 5,000 students have completed his FIU courses and many currently work as senior level executives in Fortune 500 companies. A favorite of students, Mr. Yap has won several teaching honors including the Adjunct Faculty “Excellence in Teaching Award” in 2002 and was also inducted into FIU’s Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2004. He received his MBA in 1997 at Florida International University and recently completed several rigorous Ph.D. Management Research Courses at FIU during 2007-2008.

Featured Author

As an author, Mr. Yap has published more than 25 business textbooks which include test banks, instructor’s manuals and student study guides for Prentice Hall, McGraw Hill, and Wessex Publishers. By 2012, he plans to publish a book based on “Utilizing Complex Business Models to Enhance the Success Rate of an Individual’s Personal and Professional Goal Setting and Motivation Process”.

Mr. Yap enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and spending time with his family in Miami. He firmly believes that “We should live life to its fullest potential and realize that there is a new worthwhile experience that exists for each of us as we continue on our journey through life’s winding road.”
