Jamaica Military Museum Showcases Norman Manley/Isaac Matalon

KINGSTON, Jamaica –  The Jamaica Military Museum now displays the medals and service records of Rt. Excellent Norman Manley and Major Isaac Joseph Matalon, thanks to contributions by their families.

Major-General Antony Anderson Chief of Defence Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) thanked the assembled members of the Manley and Matalon families for their assistance in helping to preserve Jamaica’s military. The new displays were unveiled at a function held at the Museum on Saturday, June 7, at Up Park Camp in St. Andrew.

Well attended by members of the business and arts communities, the Jamaica National Building Society-sponsored event also saw an impressive turnout from among the upper ranks of the JDF officer corps. Attendees were treated to a special tour of the Museum as well as a display of works from several of Jamaica’s leading artists, which was assembled for the event.
