Jamaica Diaspora Community Service Awards -2014 Honorees

SOUTH FLORIDA – Jamaica’s Consul General Franz Hall awarded the Consulate’s Diaspora Honours for 2014 to ten (10) recipients for their outstanding contributions in various areas of community development in South Florida at the recent Grand Independence Ball held last Saturday (Aug. 2) at the Signature Grand in Davie.

Recipients from left are Victoria Mutual Building Society corporate executive, Ms. Suzette Rochester – Business Leadership; South Florida entrepreneur, Ms. Patricia  M. Lee – Public Service; attorney Dahlia Walker Huntington accepting for accountant Leary Mullings who was awarded for Entrepreneurship; Dr. Fidel Goldson, Jr. – Philanthropy; President of Jamaica International Female Football Development,  Ms. Lavern Deer – Sports Development; educator Rupert Rhodd,  PhD. – Education; Broward County student and community volunteer, Adam Azan – Youth Leadership; attorney George Crimarco – Law and Justice;  and veteran radio broadcaster, Howard Duperly for media. A Special Community Merit Honour was awarded to Lloyd Finlay, owner and veteran business leader of Finlay’s Shipping, for his long standing commitment and humanitarian efforts to community enrichment across the South Florida community and to Jamaica.
