Inter-American Development Bank President to visit The Bahamas
NASSAU, The Bahamas – Mr. Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Inter-American Development Bank, will be visiting The Bahamas December 7-8, 2007, as part of a familiarization mission to The Bahamas.
A significant feature of Mr. Moreno’s visit is to introduce the Bahamian private sector to the funding facilities available from the IDB.
Therefore, Mr. Moreno will be hosted to two luncheons – one on December 7, 2007, in Nassau at the Imperial Ballroom, Adonis Rooms, Atlantis Conference Centre, to be hosted by the Minister of State for Finance the Hon. Zhivargo Laing and the other in Freeport, Grand Bahama, at Our Lucaya, on December 8, 2007, to be co-hosted by the Minister Laing and the Port Authority.
At both of these luncheons Mr. Moreno will have an opportunity to speak to the private sector. The Country Office of the Inter-American Development Bank will also host Mr. Moreno to a dinner, at which he is expected to announce a new IDB private sector initiative.
Mr. Moreno will also be afforded the opportunity to tour some of the hurricane -affected areas in Exuma and Freeport, Grand Bahama on December 8, 2007.
