Incentive Travel Buyers and Small Meeting Planners to be hosted on familiarization trip to St. Lucia

SUNRISE – Incentive travel buyers and planners of small meetings and retreats across the United States will have the opportunity to travel to St. Lucia to experience the lodging, dining, off-site venue and activity options available for their groups.

Sunrise, Florida based SNC Destinations, a destination management representation company, and St. Lucian destination management company (DMC) Carib Travel Limited are hosting the four-day familiarization (FAM) trip in conjunction with several suppliers, including Air Jamaica, Discovery at Marigot Bay, and The Jalousie Plantation.

A FAM trip allows participants a chance to experience a destination’s facilities and attractions, and showcases what suppliers have to offer. The October 16th -19th trip is designed to give hosted buyers a first-hand view of what St. Lucia offers groups through a variety of recreational activities and inspections of different properties throughout the island.

Among the planned activities, hosted buyers will visit Diamond Botanical Gardens Waterfall and the Sulphur Springs, billed as the world’s only drive-in volcano. Some of St. Lucia’s finest hotels are also scheduled on the itinerary, including Anse Chastanet, Le Sport, and award-winning Ladera.

“You can only tell so much from a photograph and web site,” said Simone Champagnie, Managing Director of SNC Destinations and active member of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives. “We are taking buyers directly to the island to allow them to get to know for themselves a new destination that is showing not only remarkable growth, but an increasing number of options in luxury accommodations, world-class venues and service, and a variety of attractions and recreational opportunities. These are all criteria for any incentive group.”

After their first night at The Jalousie Plantation, a resort that sits in the valley of the Piton Mountains which were named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and as one of the “five places to see in your lifetime” by Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine, the group will spend the remaining two nights at the island’s new 5-star resort, Discovery at Marigot Bay.

“They are all VIPs,” says Champagnie of the six qualified buyers to be named in early September, “and we will show them exactly what their own winners and VIPs can expect to experience when they visit St. Lucia.”

Applications for the FAM trip will be accepted through August 31, 2006. For more information visit: www.sncdestinations.com.
