ICC CWC 2007 hits Notting Hill Carnival

LONDON – Next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean will be the ultimate cricket party so what better way to advertise it than at one of the world’s premier carnivals – Notting Hill in London!

While tens of thousands of Caribbean and non-Caribbean nationals enjoyed the annual spectacle in England, which culminated last Monday, ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. seized the opportunity to promote the March and April 2007 tournament on two large screens located at the main entrance and near the stage.

The Caribbean-flavored commercials, which aired at various intervals throughout the day on August 27 and 28, focused on two elements of the ICC Cricket World Cup – ticket sales and general promotion of the Event.

“Notting Hill Carnival is a major event in the annual entertainment calendar and obviously an excellent opportunity to reach the Caribbean diaspora in London and surrounding environs,” noted ICC CWC 2007 Marketing Manager Damon Leon.

“The dates for this year’s carnival coincided with the build-up to the second phase of Public Ticketing for the Cricket World Cup – which starts today – and therefore made it even more appropriate as a marketing prospect.”
