MIAMI – Eliana Murillo, Head of Multicultural Marketing for Google, will  speak at The Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC) on November 9th 5:30 p.m. to discuss the needed job skills and the increased opportunities for minorities at the tech company.

The Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC) located at MDC Wolfson Campus, Building 8, Fifth Floor, 315 NE 2nd Ave. Miami, is an entrepreneurship hub that serves as a co-curricular engine of innovation and idea development for all MDC students across all disciplines.

Murillo will speak as part of the successful Pioneers @ MDC Speakers Series that brings game-changers from various industries to share their trials and triumphs. This event is free and open to the public. 

At Google, Murillo focuses on cross-product strategies to engage diverse users and business owners. She founded the multicultural marketing and business development team at Google, and has spearheaded programs that support diversity in entrepreneurship, education, and civic engagement with the use of technology. Her previous roles at Google include diversity business development, global sales operations, and regional Latin American human resources. She founded Google’s Hispanic employee and business resource group to create a network of Googlers and consult the business across functions with cultural insights.

She also serves as the chief marketing officer of Tequila Alquimia, her family’s award-winning USDA certified 100% organic tequila company. Alquimia was awarded best in class in the largest world spirits competitions in 2015, as well as no.1 best tequila in the world by Business Insider.

Murillo serves on the junior board of Worldfund in NYC, which supports education in Latin America. She was included on the 20 Under 40 Corporate Rising Stars – Latinos Going Places list by Poder360, most inspiring Latinas in tech by Brit + Co, and is ranked one of the top 20 most prolific Latinos to follow on Twitter by VistaHispano.
