HM&B Managing Partner Jerry D. Hamilton comments “As a firm that is truly proud of its diversity and civic responsibility, it has always been important to us that we recognize the sometimes overlooked, especially in our schools — the children, the teachers, the staff and the administration. Schools, such as Brownsville Middle, represent the future of our community and the dreams of every parent that their child will have the necessary foundation to be successful. Working with schools and our children is something our firm is especially passionate about, as there are few things more crucial today than instilling a sense of hope and encouragement within our students.”

This year, Law Day 2015 will celebrate the historic document of the Magna Carta, which embodies the simple but enduring truth: No one, no matter how powerful, is above the law. Over the years, the Magna Carta has taken root as an international symbol of the rule of law and as an inspiration for many basic rights Americans hold dear today, including due process, trial by jury, and the right to travel.  On May 1st, we hope to bring this history to life with the 6th grade students of Brownsville Middle School through the eyes of our legal profession.

The event program includes firm Managing Partner, Jerry D. Hamilton, serving as “Principal of the Day,” the Honorable Marcia Cooke, United States Southern District Court Judge, offering remarks, as well as a mock trial collaboration with the students and firm attorneys.
