Grammy Award-Winning Reggae Bands, Inner Circle and Third World Headline Reggae Jam, a World Music Series Concert
MIAMI – The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to announce REGGAE JAM, a one-night-only 2011-2012 World Music Series concert featuring performances by the legendary, award-winning reggae bands Third World and Inner Circle on February 24, 2012 at 8 p.m.
In celebration of Black History Month, and the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence in 2012, REGGAE JAM will light up the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall with explosive live stage performances featuring THIRD WORLD’s classic anthems “96 Degrees in the Shade,” “Now That We’ve Found Love,” and “Cool Meditation”; and INNER CIRCLE’s global smash hits “Bad Boys” and “Sweat (A La La La La Long),” among other classic reggae tunes. Local South Florida reggae bands Jahfe, Mixed Culture, The Resolvers, Spred The Dub, Stampede, Roots Shakedown, 4th Dimension and Skafyah – collectively known as the “Reggae Wave” – will open the show. Lance-O of Kulcha Shok Muzik will host the evening.
Tickets range from $25 to $40, and go on sale to Arsht Center members January 2, 2012 and to the general public January 9, 2012. The $40 VIP Ticket includes a post-show meet and greet with THIRD WORLD and INNER CIRCLE, plus a limited edition signed copy of the “Reggae Wave” compilation.
