Fuel supply causes flight cancellations for Caribbean Airlines

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Caribbean Airlines has been advised from the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago that there has been a disruption in the fuel supply for the airline.

High sulphur content in the jet fuel needed to power the aircraft has rendered the aircraft fuel unusable causing many of the airline’s services to be either delayed or cancelled.

Caribbean Airlines wishes to advise all passengers that effective immediately, all flights between Trinidad and Tobago will be cancelled until 10am tomorrow Wednesday, May 20 2009.

Also affected tonight, Tuesday May 19, 2009, is flight BW 310 heading to Caracas from Piarco International Airport.

All passengers booked to travel on these flights are asked to contact the Caribbean Airlines Call Centre at 625-7200 for further assistance and refer to www.caribbean-airlines.com for any further developments.

Caribbean Airlines would like to apologize to its passengers for any inconvenience, but these cancellations are due to circumstances beyond its control.
