FIFA President visits Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Captain Horace Burrell greeted President of football’s world’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Joseph Blatter, on his arrival at the Norman Manley International Airport Sunday afternoon (September 26) on a two day visit.

Mr. Blatter will officially inaugurate the long-overdue JFF Technical Centre at the UWI Bowl of Excellence in Mona, meet with the JFF’s Board of Directors in New Kingston and attend a reception hosted by the Government at the Terra Nova Hotel, Kingston during his visit.

Ten individuals, including former Prime Ministers Most Hon P.J. Patterson and Most Hon Edward Seaga, are to receive the President’s Award for their contribution to the development of football in Jamaica during his visit.

Mr. Blatter will depart for the British Virgin Islands Monday to inaugurate another Goal Project.
