Emperor Haile Sellassie I and Empress Waizero Menen Diamond Anniversary celebration

Miami, FL – November 2 marks 75 years of the Coronation of His/Her Imperial Majesties, Emperor Haile Sellassie I and Empress Waizero Menen. This Diamond Anniversary will be celebrated internationally by all Rastafari sons and daughters as well as others who are conscious of the roles of His/Her Majesties in the liberation and progress of Ethiopia and, the entire continent of Africa.

The relevance of the 20th-century coronation of a Black Emperor and His Empress, and its connection to the present global situation will be evident.

R.A.S.T.A. (Righteous Apostles Serving The Almighty), Inc., together with the Rastafari community of South Florida, will be presenting “The Grand Coronation”, to be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 6 at the Lauderdale Lakes Multipurpose Center, 4340 N.W. 36 Street, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. This re-enactment of the Grand Coronation promises to be an inspiring, uplifting and educational event, taking everyone on a spiritual journey to St. Georgis Cathedral in Addis Ababa where the Grand Coronation took place in 1930. Admission to this event is free.

In addition, Ises (Prayers and Praises) will be held on Sunday, November 6, beginning at 10am at the Vincent Torres Park located across from the Lauderdale Lakes Multipurpose Center.

The support and participation of all sons and daughters and friends of Rastafari is requested to make this occasion an unforgettable one in the history of South Florida.

“Your support is of great importance as we re-live a very significant historical event that gave authenticity to the livity of Rastafari” says organizers. For our youth, it will be an awesome experience that will etch itself in their memory. The celebration of 75 years of His/Her Coronation will not be an ordinary “get together” but one that will give justice and honor to the contribution made by the Royal House of Judah to the liberation of all people.
