MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – American Automobile Association (AAA) announced that Couples Sans Souci has received the coveted 2007 AAA Four-Diamond Award for the 8th consecutive year, recognizing the hotel for the finest in luxurious service, decor and amenities.

The AAA Four-Diamond Award is presented to those hotel properties that have earned exceptional ratings during inspections conducted by AAA professionals.

To be considered for AAA rating and approval, restaurants and lodgings must undergo at least two extensive, impromptu annual inspections a year by one of the organization’s 65 full-time, professional evaluators.
Properties must meet 27 necessary requirements based on member expectations in the categories of cleanliness, comfort, security, and safety.
Properties that are approved are assigned a rating of one to five AAA Diamonds. The Diamond ratings signify the range of services, amenities, and decor provided. Approximately 32,000 hotels in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean are AAA approved and diamond rated.
In order to be granted the Four-Diamond rating that Couples Sans Souci received, establishments must be upscale in all areas.
The AAA website states that Four-Diamond resorts means, “Accommodations are progressively more refined and stylish. The physical attributes reflect an obvious enhanced level of quality throughout the hotel and include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.”
Hotels must meet AAA’s highest rating standards, reflecting the ultimate in luxury and sophistication, and are subject to final review by a special Four-Diamond committee.
